The 103rd edition of the Volta is revealing part of its route and will have an unprecedented Sort start, from where one of the seven stages of the UCI World Tour race will begin, which will take the peloton to the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees.

In 1976, the Volta a Catalunya was present in the capital of Pallars Sobirà, with a stage starting in Almacelles and ending in Sort with the victory of the Belgian Roger de Vlaeminck, an authentic cycling legend, with four victories in the Paris-Roubaix and one of the three unique cyclists with victories in the five Monuments.

“The Regional Council of Pallars Sobirà and the Town Council of Sort consider it very important that the 103rd edition of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya passes through their territory and that there is a stage exit in Sort, as it reinforces the bet that is being made since Council for the sport of cycling, with the project Bike-Natura-Aventura Pallars Sobirà”, said the president of the Regional Council of Pallars Sobirà, Carles Isús.

The Volta has the assured participation of the 25 best cycling teams in the world, in addition to high-impact media dissemination that brings the images of the race on television to 190 countries and up to five continents, through 33 international broadcasters.
