The playoffs for the four vacant places in the Eurocup played its first playoff games on Thursday. Spain was aware of which teams were playing in the final of playoff B since it was one of the places that remained to be filled in Group E of the Eurocup that La Roja occupies along with Poland and Sweden. This place will be played by Northern Ireland and Slovakia on November 12 in Belfast.
Bosnia 1 (3) -Northern Ireland 1 (4)
It was the big surprise of these playoffs. Northern Ireland defeated Bosnia at home, after McGinn equaled Krunic's opening goal. In the final round of penatis, Visca and Hajradinovic's rulings condemned the Balkans. The Barcelona player, Pjanic and the forward Dzeko are left without a European Championship.
Slovakia 0 (4) -Rep. Ireland 0 (2)
Slovakia qualified for a single match for the Group E playoff berth after beating the Irish on penalties. It was a very tactical game in which neither team wanted to take a wrong step. The failures of Doherty and Brown, from eleven meters, doomed the Irish.
For its part, In group A, the triumph of Hungary against Bulgaria (1-3) stood out, which will lead them to face Iceland, who exercised his local condition to knock down Romania by the minimum (2-1). The French European Championship quarter-finalists are still alive thanks to goals from Everton forward Gylfi Sigurdsson, who scored a double.
While in Group D, with the lowest-level teams in the UEFA rankings, Georgia was the first to reach the final of their group after defeating Belarus (1-0) with a goal from Tornike Okriashvili, and will face North Macedonia of the Levantine Enis Bardhi – who played the entire match – in the victory against Kosovo (2-1).
