The coach of UCAM Murcia, Sito Alonso, described Valencia Basket as a “very strong rival”, with whom they will face each other in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey basketball game, while Joan Peñarroya, coach of the Valencian team, praised “the great game” displayed in this first round by the university students.
“Valencia is a strong rival and has shown a lot this season, overcoming the large number of casualties suffered at the beginning of the year. We are very happy to be in the draw and we hope to arrive in full condition and without injuries at this appointment in Granada”, Sito Alonso stated in statements provided by his club.
For his part, his counterpart on the ‘taronja’ bench, Joan Peñarroya, recalled that the eight qualifiers are “very good rivals” and that UCAM “has shown it throughout the season”. “He has offered a great game accompanied by results and has very good athletes, physical and aggressive, but also endowed with a lot of talent and with a threat from the triple. That is his trajectory in the first round and they will make things very complicated for us if we want move on to the semifinals,” he warned on the Valencia Basket website.
