The vice president and spokesperson of the Consell, Monica Oltra, has compared the performance with respect to the ATE (Strategic Territorial Action) of the Valencia CF with the philosophy of going “game by game” of the coach of the Atlético de Madrid, Diego Pablo Simeone, because in his opinion, first you have to have the reports and then make the decision on the possible extension.
To questions from journalists at the press conference after the plenary session of the Consell about whether he is in favor of the extension, as stated by Compromís and unlike what the PSPV -government partners- thinks, he has referred to what the president said , Ximo Puig: “Any decision made will be adjusted to the law.”
“As‘ Cholo ’Simeone would say, match by match. The reports are being prepared, all the documentation that will serve as the basis and the technical documentation is being prepared, and based on it, it will be when the decision is made ”, he said.
He regretted that the Mestalla ATE “is another of the‘ empastres ’received from the PP government and that now we have to solve like so many others and we must find a solution,” and recalled that “it affects Valencia CF and the legal and economic consequences fall on the club ”.
Regarding whether the competence to make the decision belongs to the Ministry of Economy or that of Territory, it has indicated that in the 2015 ATE agreement it says regarding expiration that “the Ministry of Economy agrees, after a report from the Ministry of Territory; there is participation of both ”.
“It is not shortly. Between now and August there is still time
or and in any case, the reports are not made ad hoc. They do a technical analysis of the situation and based on this, the decision will be made; a report is not made for an a priori decision but it is the report on which the a posteriori decision will be based ”, he explained.
Asked about the manifestation of the Ministry of Economy in favor of the extension and about the crossing of statements and disagreements between the members of the Consell on the ATE, she added: “There are also legal implications that must be studied carefully because, if it We would talk about a possible very important cost for the Generalitat ”.
“I think that formulating a priori, without having all the technical reports, a certain position is not my style, and certainly not that of the Department of Sustainable Economy”, he pointed out.
In addition, he has argued that some statements by people from other institutions “who claim that members of the Valencian government are lobbyists for a football club”, in his opinion, “not” is the “tone or content in which two institutions relate ”.
“The relationship between two different institutions must be carried out from the respect and inter-administrative collaboration and, above all, also, respecting the competences of each one ”, he concluded.
