Did you like the Costa and Morata match?
Very happy for the goal accomplished by the footballers. Beyond the ups and downs we had throughout the season, in this return we had a very good regularity that allowed us to reach the goal. I liked the team until minute 55. The changes did not come out in the best way. We tried to find speed in the spaces with Carrasco, with Llorente, but we couldn't find situations to win the game. In the end their goal came but there was almost no time left for the forces that were there.
What has been the best and worst moment of the season?
The most complicated was after losing in the Cup, in the home game against Leganés. It was hard, complex, because there are many people who are waiting … but they will have to keep waiting. We were able to get ahead and from there we began to settle with some draw, some victory, with starting to add better situations. We played great games against Real Madrid, Liverpool and another great peak in this season finale. The team is fine, strong, competitive. I hope not to have so many changes for the next season because we have an important staff.
Do you think there are people who unfairly criticize you?
There are always people who criticize. There always has to be, welcome they are, but this time they will have to wait.
What grade do you give the team?
Goal accomplished. I feel it as a responsibility because I understand the needs of the club, which are to be in the Champions League. For that we have to be regular, which allows us to have the stadium we have, to have important footballers, a stability that allows us to create situations outward.
Why have you put Costa and Morata together?
The minutes that each one had. The game we had made me believe that we could try both of them. They have made a great match. We did not have many goal situations, but both worked very well. We need both of us, either together, at times, or individually. Which is very important and I hope they can answer us in the games that come in the Champions League.
What summary do you make of the season? Has it been your most difficult year?
Year after year the responsibility grows, the demand grows and it is fine. The criticism has to be in consequence with what the team can give. Sometimes the criticisms do not coincide with reality. We compete against good teams and against two monsters. In this section we have won seven games and we have drawn four and Madrid won 10 and tied one. Doing very well, they have taken many points in these 11 games. We compete against teams that fight to win everything. We are always looking for our place and we will insist until we have an opportunity to take advantage of it.
