Simeone appeared before the media, electronically, in the preview of the match between Atlético and Mallorca, on matchday 31 of LaLiga Santander 2021-22. Two parties present. Or rather three: the one tomorrow in Son Moix and the one that happened in Manchesterin addition to Wednesday, against City in Madrid
-Are you concerned that the focus on the match in Mallorca will be removed from the two clashes with City?: “We cannot value what people from outside can think or talk about. We focus on this League of 14 that we started against Osasuna and that tomorrow we will face a rival with great need, like us. It will be hard, difficult, in a field that is always complicated”.
-They have won six in a row since they started this LaLiga of 14, is the objective to finish as high as possible, if possible second?: “Our search is always to advance, to improve, but based on what the team has shown in recent games. We hope to follow that line and for this we need a commitment from everyone”.
-What lessons does the match against City leave you that could be worth it against Mallorca or the next match against City?: “I understand the search to find parallel situations to what happened in Manchester but LaLiga is totally different from the Champions League. We focus on Mallorca absolutely based on what we generate in LaLiga and we will follow that same path.
-There has been a lot of criticism of his style of play after the match in Manchester: “You already said it, I don’t think what others think. Everyone has the thought of him and is all respectable. We humbly continue to work and try to do our best for Atleti”.
-Is it time to rotate in the League?: “We come from four days after the match in Manchester, we have had rest time, the team is fine and tomorrow we will decide but we continue along the same lines in which we have been acting”.
-Is it Suarez’s time?: “If you see him train, both João, Antoine, and Cunha, Suárez… they trained today with the desire to convey that they are ready to play. We are following a line that would be good to sustain.”
