Silva's impossible return

On May 4, 2010, David Silva stepped onto Mestalla for the last time. After training in Paterna from the age of 14 and leaving on loan to Eibar and Celta, the Canarian had four seasons at the highest level at Valencia. That day, perhaps without knowing it, che scored his last goal with the Valencia shirt, in a victory for the Ché team against Xerez Deportivo (3-1).

He was an idol for the che fans that already as World Champion he said goodbye to his people by letter. “Farewell is difficult for me. I'm leaving my house. I want and always will love this team, its people and this city“, he commented in his farewell letter. And he never stepped on the Mestalla again despite the fact that his family remained linked to the capital of Turia.

After ten successful seasons at Manchester City where he raised four Premier League, last summer he decided to return to Spain and the first place where he looked was Mestalla. In the end there was not much interest on the part of Valencia and Silva signed for Real Sociedad. In the first round match they faced Valencia (0-1) but the canary had his return to Mestalla marked in red. It will not be possible, since was injured in the Copa del Rey final, against Athletic, and will be out for a month. His return to Mestalla will have to wait for another season, perhaps that day there will already be an audience and he can say goodbye to what was his hobby, 12 seasons later.
