signs Adela González to present Mañaneros

Adela González will present Mañaneros starting in September. She will take over the programme that Jaime Cantizano has just left, which will move to the afternoons on Onda Cero in a radio move that Informalia announced months ago and which has its origins in Julia Otero’s jump to the weekend of said station.

With the choice of Adela González, TVE is betting (once again) on a name directly related to Sálvame, as she was one of its last presenters. Lydia Lozano also participated in Mañaneros and Terelu Campos, who once again has no hope of presenting on TVE, Chelo García Cortés and Alba Carrillo also appeared on that set.

TVE announced the signing of Adela González during the run-up to the Euro Cup final. “Thank you very much for this welcome, it wasn’t necessary to do so much. I want to thank RTVE for this opportunity because I face it with great strength, great desire and enthusiasm and with the responsibility of being part of something that belongs to everyone, that is very big, that is this house and I am going to learn a lot from the professionals who are in front and those who are behind,” said the communicator from Berlin.

The journalist has boasted about her team in Mañaneros. “We have a consolidated team with reporters, editors and collaborators and we also have our Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, Miriam Moreno and Marc Santandreu,” she said about those who will be her co-presenters.

With Adela González, TVE is betting on a versatile professional – she has done news and entertainment – but she is still a name with less media weight than Cantizano. Seasoned at ETB, Adela González worked for years on Más vale tarde as Mamen Mendizábal’s substitute. She then returned to the Basque regional channel where she hosted numerous magazine shows. She then moved to Telemadrid to present the afternoons with a space (La Redacción) produced by the creators of Sálvame, who were the ones who later rescued her to present the popular Telecinco programme.

After the end of Sálvame, Adela González reappeared last September to host the weekend version of Más vale tarde with Boris Izaguirre. It didn’t work out and the show was cancelled. Now, the journalist is back in the spotlight as the new face of Mañaneros.
