Sevilla

The Sierra Nevada ski resort will close this season reaping the best result in its history, registering a turnover of 45 million euros, which represents an increase of 7.6% compared to the 2018/2019 season -last which was not affected by the pandemic-, in which it obtained a turnover of 41.8 million euros. This has been advanced by the Minister of Finance and European Financing, Juan Bravo, in an informative meeting organized by Ideal de Granada.

A record turnover that will have an immediate destination in investment, since the day after the end of the season, that is to say next Monday, it is expected that the replacement works of the Emile Allais and Veleta II chairlifts will begin, which will entail the reorganization of the initiation of Borreguiles, and that will suppose a planned investment of 21 million of euros between own funds and European funds.

The councilor highlighted the investment effort that Cetursa has made in Granada’s winter season in the last three years, amounting to more than 25 million euros in cannons, machines treadmills, digital modernization and restoration, an amount that is going to increase substantially in the coming months, when Sierra Nevada plans to undertake what will be the largest disbursement in modernization and improvement of the station since the 1990s.

The counselor has put Sierra Nevada as an example of the change in management with the arrival of the new Andalusian Executive, which has allowed the Granada station to become “a national benchmark in infrastructure and for the digital transformation it has undergone”.
