Shibasaki, disappointed with Leganés’ season

Gaku ShibasakiJapanese midfielder Leganesacknowledged in words to EFE that the team is disappointed with the season it has completed after not being able to fight for promotion to the highest category of Spanish football.

“The team has tried to get promoted to First Division. It was a great goal, we didn’t achieve it. We’re not happy with the result obtained, we’re disappointed,” said the player after the Blue and Whites finished twelfth in the table.

Asked about what his team has lacked to fight until the end to go up, either directly or through the playoffs, he points out: “The team has not been able to win the important games to get into the playoffs, we tied them or we lost them.”

Beyond the final outcome, individually Shibasaki had the confidence of Asier Garitano first and then Mehdi Nafti: “I played quite a few minutes with both coaches. I have the feeling that I played well but also that I could have done better” .

Now they face a summer of uncertainty before the possible appearance of a new maximum shareholder, although in their case the objective is to continue: “I don’t hear anything, in football everything can happen. The clear thing is that I have one more year of contract with the club”.
