Seville and Galatasaray close the Marcao operation

The Sevilla is close to officially announcing the first signing for the 22-23 season, since the differences between the Andalusian club and the Galatasaray by Marcao have been reduced so much on Thursday night that it can be said that there is an agreement outlined.

In Turkey they even affirm that the player will not travel with the team to the preseason in Austria and that he is preparing to head to Seville to pass the medical examination after the leaders of Seville raised their offer to 12 million euros plus another three in variables. That makes it closer to Galatasaray’s claims, of 15 million euros, an amount that Zenit did put on the table, a proposal that however did not have the footballer’s placet.

Marcos Nascimento Teixeira is a strong, left-handed center back, 26 years old and 1.86 meters tall, who has stood out as the best in his position in the Turkish League. Trained at Atlético Paranaense, he arrived in Portugal in the ranks of Río Ave, after which he made the leap to Chaves. Galatasaray bought him for 4 million euros and in the Turkish league his value has skyrocketed in four years.

Marcao will be the replacement for Diego Carlos, who said goodbye to Sevilla this Thursday at the Sánchez Pizjuán after his transfer to Aston Villa. The future new Sevilla player will join Sevilla’s concentration in South Korea as soon as he formalizes all the procedures for his new contract, which he will sign for 5 seasons, until 2027.
