MADRID, 4 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla FC took advantage of its General Shareholders' Meeting this Monday to present its preliminary project for the new Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, developed with 'IDOM' and which will increase its capacity to 55,000 spectators.

As indicated by the Sevilla team on their website, the new fiefdom will be “prepared for 21st century football” and will be located in “the same place where the current one is”, which will be demolished, “without forgetting the history of the place, the neighborhood of Nervión”, and that will respect “the moments of glory” that have been experienced in the current venue.

“The new Sánchez-Pizjuán will not only be a reference sports venue, but it will also be a prominent building in the city of Seville, which will be linked to the incomparable urban history of the city, its culture and its heritage,” added Sevilla. .

In this way, the design of the preliminary project with 'IDOM' seeks to identify the key values in the great stages of the history of Seville through reference to great examples of its architecture and cultural heritage such as the Real Alcázar, the Archivo de Indias or , the Cathedral of Seville, to project them into a new Stadium, “contemporary, sustainable, technological and rooted in the tradition of the city.”

The proposed design will seek to “further enhance the incredible football atmosphere for a full spectator experience”, to have “the most advanced technologies applied to security, television broadcasts, the fan experience and sustainability”, and maintain the essence “of the Nervión neighborhood, on the one hand, and generating urban public space that can be enjoyed by residents 365 days a year, with new associated uses.”

The new Sevilla stadium will increase its capacity by more than 10,000 seats, up to 55,000 spectators, with a stand also close to the pitch and facing the grass, with a new and numerous 'Hospitality' offer and with a new continuous background for the local animation, “unprecedented in Spanish football”, with the addition of the new cover of all the stands. In addition, it will have two parking floors, a new official store and the new Museum, and will substantially eliminate the number of stairs.

Similarly, Sevilla pointed out that the program proposed for this new stadium allows “activity to be carried out 365 days a year”, which will mainly lead to new avenues of income and the improvement of urban spaces, with special mention for the creation of a southern façade that overlooks the square, which proposes terraces and other uses accessible to citizens and that, through a generous shaded space, activates the urban environment, transforming it into the new Plaza de Nervión and Sevilla, which will serve as the main entrance.

“For all these reasons, the New Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, which will have to be approved at the General Meeting, will be an innovative stadium, an international reference and an example of new generation stadiums, heir to the traditional values of Sevilla FC, with new ways of income, with activity all year round and driving force of activity in the Nervión neighborhood,” stated the Seville club.
