Sevilla does not start and Rayo assaults Cornellà

MADRID, 20 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla prolonged their doubts from the beginning of the season after drawing against Real Valladolid (1-1) in a match on the second day of the Santander League, while Rayo Vallecano became provisional leader after beating Espanyol (0-2 ) in Cornellà pulling fundamentals despite staying with one less at the beginning of the match.

At the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, Julen Lopetegui’s team ended up being whistled by their fans after chaining two days and a single point. The Nervión team is still without fuel and is very obtuse in the final meters, where neither Rafa Mir nor Youssef En-Nesyri -with a disallowed goal included- were able to beat Sergio Asenjo.

Only an error by the Pucela goalkeeper, added to the indecision of his teammate Joaquín Fernández, allowed the home team to see the goal. It was Rekik in a rebound at will that calmed things down after Anuar Mohamed’s goal, which left the Sevilla arena silent. Isco’s debut made the applause resume, but they were momentary.

The tie did not satisfy a Pizjuán who had already suffered minutes before with a shot from Monchu that brushed Bono’s right post. A point that leaves a great taste in the mouth of the Pacheta team -after the setback of the premiere-, but that makes the week in the Andalusian capital difficult. At the moment, Sevilla is thirteenth.

RAYO SIGNS A WORKED TRIUMPH

For its part, Rayo Vallecano got its first victory of the season (0-2) after assaulting the RCDE Stadium with goals from Isi Palazón and Pathé Ciss, one in each half, in a duel marked by the early expulsions of Florian Lejeune and Sergi Gomez.

The red-haired man saw two yellow cards in three minutes, the second after a blow to Joselu and the ‘perico’ received a direct red card after elbowing Camello. The referee needed the VAR to decide to leave the match balanced again. El Rayo received an accolade and began to gain ground in the Spanish arena.

Andoni Iraola’s men sank their teeth into their rival on the brink of half-time with a brilliant action by Isi Palazón. The Rayo player scored with a left-footed shot from the edge of the area that entered arched. A great goal against which Benjamin Lecomte could do nothing. In the second half, those from the Madrid neighborhood sentenced the stake.

It was in an action by Álvaro García, who rushed the baseline to give the goal to Pathé Ciss, who only had to push in the small area. The goal finished off Diego Martínez’s team, who have yet to win at the start of the season, while Rayo provisionally take the lead while waiting for the rest of the day.
