Sergi Barjuán will not lead the FC Barcelona subsidiary next season, as confirmed by the Catalan team on Tuesday, although the former player “will continue to perform functions within the structure of the Club’s Football Department.”
“FC Barcelona is waiting to finalize in the next few days the name of its substitute at the head of the Barça subsidiary”, pointed out the Blaugrana team about the possible replacement of Sergi Barjuán, who took over the position last summer and who did ‘ bridge’ with the arrival to the first team of Xavi Hernández after the dismissal of Ronald Koeman.
As coach of Barça B, the former international was at the gates of the ‘play-off’ for promotion to LaLiga SmartBank, closing the 2021/2022 season with 57 points in Group 2 of the First RFEF, with a balance of 16 wins, nine draws and 13 losses.
