San Sebastian, at your feet

They have arrived and they have swept the board. Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, our superstars of cinema, have posed hand in hand. The detail of the portrait, the loving look of the actor towards his wife. It was only a moment, and very fleeting, but there it remains. Javier and Pe have conquered Donostia on the great night of cinema.

The 72nd edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival has begun. 120 metres of red carpet to enter the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, plus 50 metres on the Kursaal carpet. Andreu Buenafuente and Berto Romero will be the masters of ceremonies for the opening gala on Friday 20 September. As they themselves have announced, nothing can go wrong. The ceremony was presented by actress Bárbara Goenaga, who began her speech in Basque. Bárbara looked beautiful in a lilac-coloured dress.

The most photographed were Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, who received the Donostia Award, which he was unable to collect last year due to the Hollywood actors’ strike. This honorary award came to his hands five years after the one given to his wife, Penélope Cruz. It was the singer Bono, from U2, who gave it to him during a star-studded and unannounced visit to the Kursaal auditorium, before the perplexed gaze of the actress.

Pe chose a classic-style dress, with delicate lace on both the corset and the skirt. The V-shaped neckline was finished with a large black bow with a white rose. Her long, loose hair was worn as a style.
