San Mamés hosts a congress on academy football

The San Mamés stadium, with Athletic as host, will serve tomorrow and the day after as the venue for a new work congress convened by the European Club Association. 45 clubs from the old continent have confirmed their attendance at these working days. Conferences that will deal, according to the organizers, with “different strategies, structures and philosophy of youth football models”.

Different representatives of the Bilbao club will make a presentation to the congressmen about their Lezama project. The red and white interventions will be carried out by those responsible for Athletic’s sports management to some puppy grown in the lower categories. Two other clubs with a background in training work, such as Olympique de Lyon and Hoffenheim, will also present their experiences with grassroots football.

In addition to Athletic, 45 European clubs have registered for these conferences, including Atlético de Madrid, Real, Sevilla, Valencia and Villarreal, which also belong to the ECA, an organization that was created in 2008.
