Salomon launches ‘Cross’ range for post-pandemic generation of runners

MADRID, 21 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Salomon has presented the collection for the spring-summer 2022 season with more than 80 percent of the running clothing range made up of completely new products and designed for runners to face the post-pandemic period.

The brand, born in the French Alps in 1947, fulfills its commitment to trail running athletes, a sport that doubled its practitioners in 2013 and has not stopped growing since then, and even more so with the outdoor sport carried out in these last two years due to COVID.

In addition, the new range of ‘Cross’ clothing will debut to serve an emerging population of these urban runners who have recently started in this sport due to the current health context. One consequence of the global pandemic has been the rise of casual running, especially in cities, where people looked for new ways to keep fit while their free movement was limited.

More than 60 percent of these new runners plan to continue running in the return to the ‘new normal’ and will form the basis of a new generation of runners who demand quick-drying, lightweight and functional t-shirts, shorts, tights and jackets. for a wide variety of activities, beyond running.

That’s why Salomon’s clothing team has developed the ‘Cross’ range with a focus on simplicity, creating designs that allow runners to pick up the pace, whether they’re casual urbanites who also wear the same clothes to go to the gym or to go hiking, or as if they are regular trail runners, who prefer to face more technical challenges in the mountains.

CROSS: VERSATILE AND BREATHABLE GARMENTS

Salomon’s new Cross franchise is made up of versatile and breathable garments, available in a graphic style or with more robust designs. When the wind picks up, the Bonatti Cross Wind Jacket wraps the runner in a breathable, lightweight shell that manages body temperature.

Durable PFC-free waterproofing treatment is made for light rain. The Bonatti Cross also provides freedom of movement thanks to its lightweight fabric, active fit and stretch panel on the back; and all this allows air to circulate.

On the other hand, the fabric of the Cross Run Graphic T-shirt is breathable, very soft and dries quickly; Cross 2in1 shorts are for the gym or can be worn in any high performance activity. They feature a zippered pocket, an interior pocket and an adjustable waist, plus a hook at the back to carry a light T-shirt.

The Cross Run Women’s Tights have a stretchy fit made from recycled fibers, finished with deep pockets for easy access and a precise fit. Made from 79% recycled materials and available in three lengths (53cm, 63cm and 71cm), its fabric hugs muscles and wicks away moisture.

The collection is completed by the Pulse Belt, a minimalist trail or travel belt that allows you to carry personal items and hydration bottles discreetly and securely. Its versatility makes it compatible with a short and simple race around the city to the longest and most technical ones in the mountains. Made from a PFC-free material, it’s also popular with Nordic skiers and tourists who want to travel light.
