MADRID, Jan. 8 (SportsFinding) –
The Spanish driver Carlos Sainz (Mini) made a positive balance after the fourth stage of the Dakar Rally, in which he was able to maintain the lead with the third place, and assured that “he had rarely made such a difficult stage” in the raid that opens this year in Saudi Arabia.
“The last one hundred kilometers and peak have been impressive. I think that I had rarely done such a difficult stage in the Dakar before, for navigation, all over rocks and stones, with immense rocks that made it very difficult to find the passage,” said Sainz .
The Madrid, who rules in the general classification with 3:03 of advantage over Al-Attiyah, highlighted the work of his co-driver this Wednesday. “The truth is that Lucas Cruz, again, has done a fantastic job. Being here is already a victory today,” said the two-time world rally champion.
“It has been a very hard day, but we have been able to save it without major problems. It has been one of the most complicated stretches we have ever driven, with huge rocks! We are still leading leaders!” Sainz said after the fourth Dakar 2020 chapter.
