The Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev, current world number 8, is the first 'Top-10' confirmed to compete in the ATP 250 AnyTech365 Andalucía Open 2021 from April 4 to 11 in Marbella (Malaga), the organization reported on Tuesday.
Rublev, 23, has seven ATP titles to his credit, five of which he got last season, being the tennis player along with Novak Djokovic with the most wins in 2020 with a total of 41.
He chained those of Doha and Adelaide the first two weeks of competition and returned to win consecutive titles in Hamburg, Saint Petersburg and Vienna just before making his debut at the Nitto ATP Finals in London, where he scored his first win over Dominic Thiem.
Rublev started 2021 in Melbourne playing the ATP Cup with Russia, where he managed to take the title in a final against Italy together with his teammates Medvedev, Donskoy and Karatsev. The Moscow-born tennis player has been linked to Spain for many years, Since in addition to being part of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona, he has been coach by Fernando Vicente from Castellón since 2016. Rublev's presence in the Marbella tournament joins other confirmed ones such as those of the Swiss Stan Wawrinka or those of the Spaniards Alejandro Davidovich and Pablo Andújar.
