The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, said this Thursday in Granada that he is “quiet” because he has done at the head of the organism “a honest work” and that will give “even more explanations” in the assembly that the RFEF will hold on May 30.
“Right now you have to be more determined than ever and go with your head held high because I have no reason to do anything else.” said Rubiales in Granada after collecting the ‘Marca Granada’ award at the 1st Radio Marca Granada Gala.
The president of the RFEF addressed those present at the gala after collecting the award after this Thursday the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation for alleged irregularities in his management at the head of the agency.
“I found a Federation with 140 million revenues and now we are at 400. There is no institution in the sport that has grown so much. We have done an honest job, even though I am now in the spotlight, ”he added.
Rubiales advanced that the RFEF will hold its assembly on May 30 and that this will be “a good time to give even more explanations and that both football and society in general can understand many things.”
“We are pioneers in televising the assemblies, so anyone can see it. I invite everyone to listen to our management and give any explanation they want,” he added.
The leader commented that it is “hard” that “the content of something as intimate as your mobile phone is stolen”.
“That they take it away from you and expose its content publicly is something tremendous. You see certain tendentious and manipulated news that try to seek more impact than content and without contrast”he added.
“I am calm and happy with excellent management. And hoping that we can find those who have committed this crime, because as much as people talk, the only one who has suffered a crime has been me, ”Rubiales sentenced.
