The Spanish midfielder of Manchester City Rodrigo Hernández was chosen this Sunday ‘Player of the 2022/23 season’ of the Champions League, the highest award in the awards announced by UEFA after the final on Saturday in Istanbul.

Rodri put the finishing touch to the season with the goal that gave the English team victory against Inter Milan, a 1-0 draw in the 68th minute that brought City the first European Cup. The Spaniard was named ‘MVP’ of the final and a day later the awards followed.

Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid); Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Rúben Dias (City), Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), Federico Dimarco (Inter), John Stones (City), Kevin De Bruyne (City), Rodri (City), Bernardo Silva (City), Erling Haaland (Man City) and Vinícius Júnior (Real Madrid).

In addition, Napoli player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was named the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League ‘Young Player of the Season’. On the other hand, the goal that Haaland scored against Borussia Dortmund, an acrobatics in the air with his leg stretched out, was chosen ‘Goal of the season’.
