The FC Barcelona player Robert Lewandowski expressed his desire to play for Barça next season with the now PSG player Leo Messi, since he believes that he is still “part of Barça” and considered that they need players like the ’10’ to continue to grow in this new blaugrana era.
“Messi will always be part of Barça. If he returns, not only for the fans, but also for the players, it would be impressive. His place is here, in Barcelona. I don’t know what will happen but I hope we can play together next season, we need to to these types of players,” he said.
Lewandoswki, sponsor of the 18th edition of the solidarity book ‘Relatos Solidarios del Deporte’ -which on this occasion raises money for the Lovaas Foundation and helps children with Autism Spectrum Disorder-, assured about his first campaign as a blaugrana that it couldn’t be perfect.
“You can’t change everything from one day to the next. In the first season maybe we haven’t been perfect every game. There are a lot of new players, we’ve had bad luck with injuries, especially in the most important games, and it makes it more difficult “, he acknowledged.
On a personal level, he accepted that more is expected of him, but he believes that the collective lack of goals at Barça is due to many factors. “People always expect more goals, but I am convinced that we can play better in attack. I am sure that we will score many goals”, he predicted.
“I had a blow with Real Madrid, but I always want to play,” acknowledged the Polish striker. “I should have asked for the change. Yesterday I couldn’t walk, but I tried to play without problems, it’s part of football. I always try to be ready for my teammates. The good thing is that in the next game I’ll be fine,” he assured.
As for sponsoring the new edition of the solidarity book, written by various sports journalists and presented at the CaixaBank auditorium in Barcelona, he assured that he is not only a footballer and that he is “a voice” for this type of issue.
