Juancho Hernangómez falls to the Hawks and Serge Ibaka still does not play
MADRID, 15 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio received a heartfelt ovation this morning from the Target Center in Minneapolis on his return with the Cleveland Cavaliers, although he was unable to celebrate a victory against his former team, the Minnesota Tiberwolves (110-102), on an NBA day in which Juancho Hernangómez fell with Toronto Raptors at home against Atlanta Hawks (103-114).
The man from El Masnou, who returned to the slopes last Thursday in the win against the Portland Trail Blazers (113-119) more than a year after tearing the cruciate ligament in his left knee, played his second game of the season in which he was his house between 2011 and 2017 and between 2020 and 2021.
The Wolves fans rose to their feet at the end of the first quarter, when JB Bickerstaff brought on the Catalan and another former player from the local franchise, Kevin Love. In his almost 13 minutes on the court, the Spaniard scored three points -1 of 4 field goals and 1 of 3 triples-, grabbed two rebounds and gave two assists.
Anthony Edwards’ 26 points were not enough for the Ohioans, who remain fifth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 27 wins and 17 losses.
For their part, the Raptors, tenth in the East, broke a streak of three straight victories by losing at home to the Hawks, whom they aspired to approach in ninth place in the same conference. Bring Young, with 29 points, led the away victory.
On this occasion, Juancho Hernangómez from Madrid had a quarter of an hour of play in which he only managed to sign three points after hitting one of his three shots at the basket.
Lastly, Spanish-Congolese power forward Serge Ibaka missed his fourth straight game with the Milwaukee Bucks “for personal reasons.” On this occasion, those from Wisconsin, third in the East (27-16), lost at home to the Miami Heat (111-95) in a game in which they could not count on the Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo due to knee problems.
