Ricky Rubio breaks the crusader and says goodbye to the season

MADRID, 30 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cleveland Cavaliers Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, tests carried out after retiring injured from the duel against New Orleans Pelicans confirmed this Wednesday.

Rubio left the park of the New Orleans flag helped by his teammates when he was injured just over two minutes from the end of the game. The Spanish international saw quickly that it was a major injury and the severity was confirmed the next morning with the ‘Cavs’ medical report.

“This Wednesday’s MRI revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Rubio will miss the remainder of the 2021/22 season,” the Ohio franchise announced.

The Catalan player suffers the same injury, to the same knee, as in March 2012 when he collided with Kobe Bryant in the duel between Minnesota and Lakers. Rubio fits a new setback in a career that, despite his 31 years, marveled at his new adventure with the Cavaliers doing his best numbers in the NBA.
