Rebeka Masarova overcomes her three-hour debut at the Hua Hin 2 tournament

MADRID, 17 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish tennis player Rebeka Masarova qualified on Tuesday for the round of 16 of the Hua Hin 2 tournament (Thailand), which counts towards the WTA and is played on hard courts, after overcoming her debut against Hungarian Anna Bondar in three sets (3-6, 7-6, 7-5).

Masarova needed three hours to complete her debut in the Thai tournament, where after losing the first set, she found herself down a break in the second. The Spaniard reacted with four games in a row and although she did not take advantage of this good advantage, she managed, after a break due to rain, to force the third and final game after winning the tie-break (7/2).

In this set, Masarova was overwhelming and took a promising 4-0 lead, but Bondar did not give up and was able to equalize at five games before losing the last two to clear the way for her rival to the round of 16.
