Real Sociedad seeks to return to Europe in Palma

MADRID, 1 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Sociedad is looking this Wednesday at the Visit Mallorca Estadi (9:00 p.m.), in the postponed match of the twenty-first day of LaLiga Santander, to return to European positions against a RCD Mallorca that needs to increase its distance above the relegation zone.

After the dramatic defeat in the Basque derby (4-0) and the elimination in the Europa League at the hands of Leipzig, the Donostiarras raised their heads with a victory against Osasuna (1-0) last Sunday thanks to a solitary goal from Aritz Elustondo .

With this, those of Imanol Alguacil add 41 units to only one of the sixth place of Villarreal -which has one more game-. In case of winning this Wednesday, they would also stay just one point behind the ‘Champions’ positions.

Meanwhile, the vermilion intend to leave behind the defeats of recent weeks against Real Betis (2-1) and Valencia (0-1) so as not to be surprised by the ghost of relegation. With 26 points, they manage five points over the burning positions.

The ‘txuri urdin’ team will once again have numerous casualties; Joseba Zaldua, Adnan Januzaj, Aihen Muñoz, Diego Rico, Rafinha and Ander Barrenetxea will not be available, while Mikel Merino is a doubt. The Balearic side, meanwhile, will lament the absence of Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Dominik Greif.
