Real Madrid, without Spanish captains

The march of Sergio Ramos Real Madrid represents a change in the captaincy of the team that, for the first time since 1904, will not be held by any Spanish player. Right now, Marcelo is the first captain of the team, while Benzema and Varane they are the second and third, respectively. Something that can change because Marcelo can leave Real Madrid this summer.

The last time Real Madrid had a first captain who was not Spanish was in 1904, when it was Frederick Scrambled, Guatemalan forward. He was not the first foreigner to be the first captain of Real Madrid. The first was Arthur Johnson in the 1901/02 season and that, in addition, he was the author of the first goal in the history of Real Madrid.

From 1904 until today, the first captain of Real Madrid has always been a Spanish player. Something that now changed after the departure of Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid.
