Real Madrid will play against Al Ahly in the Club World Cup semifinals

MADRID, 4 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid learned this Saturday that Al Ahly will be their rival in the semifinals of the FIFA Club World Cup, next Wednesday, February 8 (8:00 p.m./Telecinco), at the Príncipe Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat.

Al Ahly from Egypt, the most successful team in Africa with 10 Champions League titles, beat Seattle Sounders (0-1) with a goal from Afsha in the 88th minute. The other semifinal will be played by Brazilian Flamengo and a Saudi Al Hilal who they also beat Wydad Casablanca this Saturday (1-1 and 3-5 on penalties).

Real Madrid, European champion last season, aspires to be in the final on February 11 (8:00 p.m.) and opt for the reconquest of a Club World Cup that they won in 2018 for the seventh and last time.

“It is always a pleasure to play this competition because to play it you have to win the Champions League and that is a sign of the great success of the team last season. The important thing is that we are well, that we can count on all the players taking into account the calendar so demanding that we are having and that we are going to continue having for many weeks. If you do not offer the same level of intensity and concentration, you suffer”, points out the director of Institutional Relations of Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueño, in statements collected on the official website of the club.
