Real Madrid endorse Getafe a set in their only friendly

The coronavirus brought with it the most atypical preseason for Real Madrid. Just three weeks of training in Valdebebas, the opposite pole of those planetary tours that compromised the preparation of the bloc, although in return they filled the club's coffers and spread the white label throughout the globe. Those trips brought up high intensity duels, less than official but clearly more than friendly. Last summer, without going any further, Bayern, Arsenal, Atlético (a 3-7 that generated tremors in the club), Tottenham, Fenerbahçe, Red Bull Salzburg and Roma were planted against Madrid.

How different everything in football in times of coronavirus, because the Madrid preseason in terms of friendlies only lasted two hours, those of Madrid-Getafe disputed in Valdebebas, on the pitch of Alfredo Di Stéfano. Without access to the press or television broadcasting, it will be necessary to believe the version of the official media (specifically from Getafe; Madrid did not refer to the future of the game): the victory was for the whites 6-0, all the goals scored before the break.

Four of the six white goals carried the same signature: Karim Benzema. The Frenchman emerged as the main scorer figure for Real Madrid in the first half with a poker that makes you think and expect the best of him in Madrid's official debut on Sunday. The other two goals were from Ramos (from a penalty) and from the youth squad Arribas, one of La Fábrica's brightest jewels.

Zidane, with many casualties

It is true that Madrid's initial plan included two friendlies; last week's against Rayo ended up suspended due to a possible positive in the Vallecan ranks that compromised the health security of both teams. So Zidane had to settle for a single duel, as a dress rehearsal for his debut in the League this Sunday in Anoeta, against Real Sociedad. The Marseillais did it, in addition, with a multitude of absences: Asensio, Isco, Reguilón, Hazard, Bale, Mariano, Lucas Vázquez, Odegaard and Jovic. Zizou compensated for the casualties with a large representation of the quarry, including several of Raúl's boys who raised the Youth League: Altube, Javi Hernández, Miguel Gutiérrez, Antonio Blanco, Arribas, Dotor, Latasa and Marvin.

Getafe, for their part, came out at Di Stéfano with several members of Getafe B in their starting lineup. José Bordalás started the friendly with David Soria; Alba, Cabaco, Chema, Nowak; Palaversa, Sabit, Timor; Iglesias, Ángel and Keita.
