The Electoral Board of Real Madrid, in compliance with its attributions, has officially opened this Good Friday the procedure for holding elections to the Presidency and Board of Directors of the white club, after yesterday the President, after hearing the Board of Directors, requested said summons to the Electoral Board.
Candidates for the presidency will be able to present their candidacies from April 3 to 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., although on the last day of the deadline the schedule for the reception of the documentation will be uninterrupted from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Candidates for the Board of Directors may be made up of between 10 and 20 people including the president.
The deadline for the proclamation of candidacies is April 13. If more than one candidacy is presented, the Electoral Board must set the voting for a date that, according to the electoral regulations of the club, would not be later than April 29 (Thursday). If only one candidacy is presented, it will be proclaimed as the new Board of Directors between April 13 and 15.
Among the documentation provided, Candidates must submit a bank pre-guarantee, backed by the personal assets of the members of the candidacy, equivalent to 15% of the club's expenses budget, which represents 92.82 million euros.. The vice president candidate must have been a member of the club for 20 years; the vice-presidents, 15 years; and the vocals, 10 years.
Members will be able to consult the Electoral Census at the club's offices in the Real Madrid City of Valdebebas until April 6, and they will be able to submit claims to it until 7:00 p.m. on that day. Voting by mail, which must be carried out before a notary (the club will reimburse the members for the cost of the notarial procedure), can be requested on the website and at the club offices until the Wednesday before the vote.
