Real Madrid breathes after beating Alavés

The Real Madrid won the Alaves and remains firm in the leadership of LaLiga. It was a tight match, complicated for Ancelotti’s men who, despite the result, have not quite cleared up the doubts shown in previous games. Especially when it comes to seeing the door, the big problem that this team has right now.

Real Madrid seems permanently installed on groundhog day. Every Whites’ game for a while are always the same. Those of Ancelotti It’s hard for them and it helps to score and they can’t avoid scares from the rival team, whatever it’s called. Today, his name was Alavés and, as in previous games, Real Madrid had a hard time finding the door. Specifically 63 minutes, when Marco Asensio scored 1-0. Curiously, the Spaniard was the last Real Madrid player to beat a rival goalkeeper. It was against Granada on February 6.

A goal, that of Marco Asensio, which relieved Real Madrid and, above all, a Bernabéu who did not hesitate to whistle his team for the bad game they were playing. Especially in the first half in which the whites did little or nothing and that was at stake to forget the defeat against PSG. Ancelotti only made one change with respect to Paris: he gave entrance to Valverde by Kroos. The Whites wanted to, but they couldn’t against a well-ordered Alavés at the back and waiting for their opportunity in a Whites’ mistake or on the counterattack. Each played his role to perfection. Real Madrid carried the weight of the game, but to do nothing because traffic was very slow and predictable. Con Vinicius disappeared, Real Madrid’s only danger came from the right with Carvajal.

The first part was very boring and bad on the white side. The necessary ingredients for the whistle of the fans when the referee signaled the break at which it was 0-0. The second half was better for the Whites because it couldn’t be worse. At least, they put more effort into it and Vinicius appeared because Alavés’ coverage was no longer as perfect as in the first act. Real Madrid pressed and the first clear chances arrived, including one of Benzema to which Lejeune land denied the goal under the sticks. Alavés, meanwhile, dedicated themselves to withstanding the attacks and waiting for their chance and they had it, but Pere Pons missed what seemed like a goal. This was the game until the 63rd minute when Marco Asensio a shot from outside the area was taken from the hat to put the 1-0 on the scoreboard. A much celebrated by the white fans who received the reprimand of Marco Asensio for the whistles.

Real Madrid had finally managed to score, but they couldn’t breathe easy because Alavés never gave up and that made things easier for Real Madrid. Without the Basque defensive rigor with the 0-0, Benzema sent a ball to the post and shortly after came the 2-0 vinicius in the 80th minute after a good play between Marco Asensio and Benzema that gave the Brazilian the goal.

There it seemed that the game had ended, but no. Benzema scored the 3-0 by converting a penalty on Rodrygo. It was in the 91st minute and that’s when the curtain was lowered on the match.
