Real Madrid and Barça defend co-leadership against Casademont and Baskonia

MADRID, 3 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid and Barça will return to action this weekend in the Endesa League 2021-2022 with two duels of different dimensions against Casademont Zaragoza and Bitci Baskonia, respectively, corresponding to the twelfth day.

After the stoppage for the first international ‘window’, national basketball recovers its activity and the first to defend its privileged position will be the Madrid team, which will visit Casademont Zaragoza on Saturday, a rival that wants to come out from below.

Those of Pablo Laso, who suffered to get their Euroleague commitment at home against Maccabi, could recover Anthony Randolph and Trey Thompkins, who did not play on Thursday, to get them into the team’s dynamics in search of maintaining their good streak against the Zaragoza team against which they have only lost in two of their 30 matches, although for the last time only two years ago.

On Sunday it will be the turn of Barça, which is also in an optimal moment despite having two sensitive casualties such as those of point guard Nick Calathes and guard Corey Higgins. The Blaugranas will receive a downcast Bitci Baskonia reinforced in their morale by their victory against Efes, although with the extra effort of having done it after an extension.

Sarunas Jasikevicius’s men face an opponent who is not going through his best moment and who is one victory away from the access zone to the Copa del Rey. The arrival of Nevan Spahija did not quite have the desired effect and the Baskonians will also visit the Palau with the memory of the beating they received a few weeks ago in the Euroleague (93-67), still with Dusko Ivanovic.

Behind the two co-leaders is Lenovo Tenerife, with 8-3. The Txus Vidorreta team is in a great moment and will defend their third place in search of their fifth consecutive victory, although they will face a BAXI Manresa who fights for the Cup and that the Nou Congost always raises its level.

With 7-4 are UCAM Murcia, Valencia Basket and Gran Canaria. The Murcian team has a difficult exit to Badalona where a Joventut awaits him, who in the Olímpic has taken five of his six triumphs, while the ‘taronja’, in a good moment, is looking for his fourth victory in a row on his departure to Fuenlabrada, court of an Urbas who is penultimate and who has four defeats in a row. The Canarian team is the only one that will play in their pavilion, where only Barça has won, against a needy Hereda San Pablo Burgos, who has lost six in a row.

In search of not letting go of the cup fight are, with 5-6, Río Breogán and Unicaja, who will play at home respectively against Surne Bilbao Basket that has won their last three games at home and against bottom Coosur Real Betis, where Luis Casimiro will premiere, precisely before his former team. Finally, MoraBanc Andorra and Monbus Obradoiro, both 4-7, will meet in the Principality, with the winner moving away from danger.
