MADRID, 5 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Rayo Vallecano will seek this Monday in Vallecas (9:00 p.m.), in the last game of the twentieth day of LaLiga Santander, to rise to European positions against a UD Almería that hopes to continue putting distance with the relegation zone.
Andoni Iraola’s men, who surprised Villarreal at home last Monday with a solitary goal from Sergio Camello (0-1), hope to take advantage of the defeats over the weekend for the people of Castellón -against Elche (3-1)- and of Real Betis -against RC Celta (3-4)- to make a leap to the noble zone.
With 29 points, the rayistas are only two from both sixth place for the Verdiblancos and fifth place for the ‘Yellow Submarine’, so a win would allow them to sleep fifth this week. The only doubt for the match is that of Álvaro García, with muscular discomfort.
With the infirmary empty, Almería will go to Vallecas, which hopes to take advantage of the inertia of its last victory against Espanyol (3-1), with which it signed its third consecutive date scoring -after the draws against Atlético (1-1) and Valencia (2-2)-.
Rubi’s team accumulates 22 points after the first round of the championship, three margins over the danger zone, which they hope to push away against a rival they already managed to beat in the duel between the two in October (3-1).
