Raúl Martínez and Adrián Vicente, silver and bronze in the European Taekwondo

The Spanish taekwondo players Raúl Martínez (-87 kilos) and Adrián Vicente (-58) have conquered this Friday the silver and bronze medal, respectively, in the second day of the European Taekwondo Championship, which takes place until this Sunday in the city ​​of Manchester (England).

Raúl Martínez was very close to the gold medal after losing to Croatian Ivan Sapina, who forced the ‘golden point’ with only three seconds remaining (11-11). At the decisive moment, the continental bronze could be imposed on the Spanish taekwondo player, who took the second step of the podium.

For his part, fellow Olympian Adrián Vicente took the bronze in -58 kilos after losing in the semifinals at the hands of Irishman Jack Woolley, who left him at the gates of the final after a great performance in the rest of the rounds.

In addition, Spain also added a metal in the ParaEuropean taekwondo: a silver by Dalia Santiago, who had an outstanding tournament in the K44 (+65 kilos) category.
