Raúl Jiménez leaves on a stretcher after a header

Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez had to leave the duel on a stretcher between Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers after suffering a head clash with David Luiz.

The incident occurred five minutes into the match, when Jiménez and Luiz collided at the exit of a corner for Arsenal.

The Mexican attacker was assisted for more than 20 minutes on the grass and taken out on a stretcher, while Luiz visibly bled and received a bulky bandage on his head.

The Brazilian, who was able to continue playing, became interested in the state of Jiménez while he was taken out by the Emirates Stadium band. The Mexican, according to several English media, was transferred to a hospital for further tests.

Nuno: “Raúl is conscious and awake”

Nuno Espirito Santo, coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers, confirmed that Mexican Raúl Jiménez is “conscious and awake” in the hospital. The Aztec striker was immediately transferred to a London hospital, where he will undergo tests. According to Espirito Santo confirmed at a press conference, Jiménez is “awake and aware” and “in good hands”.

“The reaction we had? Panic, panic and panic. You could see it on the faces of the teammates. It was a very serious situation. It's terrible.”said the Portuguese coach.
