Ivan Rakitic has revealed that in the locker room FC Barcelona the anthem was sung Sevilla and that the very Leo Messi I also sang it. In a light-hearted interview on club television, the Croatian midfielder assured that the famous anthem of El Arrebato was often present.
“There are kids in the dressing room who sang it. Messi too. Our anthem is unique, outrageous when you go out and the fans behind us sing it,” said the Sevilla player, who also told an anecdote in the Barça dressing room, when in a training session he asked Piqué for the ball with a very Sevillian phrase: “pass it to me ‘my weapon’”, he snapped, after which the culé captain told him: “What I was missing, that a Croatian ask me for the ball like that” .
Rakitic explained how he feels at Sevilla. “I am proud to have played so many games and be able to match Juan Martagón or Dani Alves. But the main thing is to be able to continue enjoying the game with the one who has played the most games (Jesús Navas) and continue to climb that ranking. I was not born from Seville or from Seville but I will die like this. My house is here in Seville and that will never change. What Sevilla has given me I’m not going to be able to give back”, he explained before assuring that he will feel something special when he jumps in the Sevilla shirt this Thursday at the Dinamo stadium in Zagreb: “It’s nice to play in the stadium where my journey in the selection began. I’m glad to have that opportunity and to show my people in Croatia Sevilla FC”.
