The São Paulo announced this Monday the signing of right-back Marcio Rafael Ferreira de Souza ‘Rafinha‘, 36, from a Guild that will play the 2021 season in the second division.
“Rafinha: Tricolor since always,” announces the whole of the capital of São Paulo in a short video posted on his Instagram account. With the news, images of the player are shown, as a child, wearing the Sao Paulo jersey.
“Sao Paulo agreed to hire the right-back, who signed a contract until the end of 2022 with the possibility of renewing him for one more season,” the publication added.
The former Bayern Munich German finished the 2021 season at the Guild.
Sao Paulo has been trying to get an experienced right back and their previous bets were the Spanish Juanfran and the Brazilian Daniel Alves. Another option, Colombian Luis Manuel Orejuela, could not establish himself as a starter due to injuries.
