The vice-president of FC Barcelona, Rafael Yuste, highlighted the “good game” of Eintracht Frankfurt, the Barça team’s rival in the quarterfinals of the Europa League after the draw held this Friday in Nyon (Switzerland), and asked for “a lot of prudence and humility ” to pass the tie.
“All the teams are powerful, in the end there is no easy rival. Eintracht is a team that plays football very well, so we must be very careful and we must have the ideas of how to attack to go through the round,” said Rafael Yuste in statements Movistar+ collected by Europa Press after the draw.
The Barça vice-president acknowledged the good performance of the team away from home in the two previous qualifying rounds of the continental competition against Napoli and Galatasaray. However, playing the second leg of the quarterfinals at the Camp Nou is, according to him, “an added bonus” for the fans and the players.
Asked about the return to the Camp Nou of the German team’s goalkeeper Kevin Trapp imagines that “he would not have a good memory” of Barça’s comeback (6-1) against PSG in 2017. “It’s history and this is another game,” he added.
Yuste has also highlighted the form of the culé team after beating Galatasaray (1-2) in Istanbul. “We are in a better and better tone, the team is more cohesive as a group and we really want to get to Madrid on Sunday and win the game. It is the ‘Champions’ of the ‘Champions'”, he sentenced on ElClásico in Santiago Bernabeu.
The first leg of the Europa League tie will be played in Germany and the second leg at the Camp Nou. The matches will be played on April 7 and 14. In case of going to the semifinals, Barça would play on April 28 and May 5. Xavi Hernández’s men already know their possible rival if they beat the Germans and would face the winner of the match between West Ham and Olympique de Lyon.
