Quique Sánchez Flores, dismissed as Getafe coach

The Madrid coach Quique Sánchez Flores has been dismissed as Getafe coach this Thursday, with the team risking salvation and after chaining two consecutive defeats against two direct rivals, ending his third spell at the helm of the ‘azulón’ bench, according to informed the entity itself in a statement.

“The Madrid coach and his coaching staff cease to belong to the Azulona entity. From the club we thank him for the commitment and professionalism that they have shown since his arrival with this club, and his dedication at all times,” Getafe advanced in a brief note .

Sánchez Flores began his third stage as ‘azulón’ coach in October 2021, when he took the bottom team with a single point in the first eight games of 2021-2022. Since then, he has led Getafe in 66 games, with 18 wins, 24 draws and 24 losses.

The team from the south of the Community of Madrid link five games without winning in the League, with three defeats -two of them consecutive against Mallorca (3-1) and Almería (1-2)- and two draws. After this bad run, the man from Madrid leaves Getafe seventeenth, just one point above the relegation marked by Valencia with 30 units.
