PSV Eindhoven made the transfer of Dutch footballer Cody Gakpo to Liverpool official on Tuesday, after the attacker shone with his team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, becoming the first signing of the English team in the winter market.
“PSV and Liverpool have reached an agreement for the transfer of Cody Gakpo. The 23-year-old attacker will imminently leave for England where he will undergo the necessary procedures to finalize the transfer,” said the club from the Netherlands in your Twitter account.
The PSV winger was one of the great sensations of the World Cup event. His three goals with the ‘Oranje’ were key for the Netherlands to reach the quarterfinals in Qatar, where they were finally defeated in a penalty shootout against Argentina.
The 23-year-old attacker will arrive in Liverpool after an excellent start to the season with PSV, where he scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists in 19 games, between the Eredivise and the Europa League. He is currently the top scorer in the Dutch league with nine goals.
