Boban and Prosinecki belonged to the same soccer generation. Two players who made history in Croatian football. The first at AC MIlán that marked an era at Calcio, another at Real Madrid where he arrived as a star signing. Both had already stood out from very young. His first letter of introduction was in 1987, when they were champions with Yugoslavia in the U-20 World Cup.
Nevertheless, Boban has some difficult memories with Prosinecki, with whom he shared a room. He admits that he did not follow the rules and started smoking in the middle of the night, while they slept…
“She would wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning and he would light a cigarette”
Boban
“I remember Robert Prosinecki a lot, first of all, because he always pestered me. He started smoking red Marlboros when he was 13, so when it came to rooming with him (we were roommates) it was no fun. He would wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning and he would light a cigarette. I told him: “Robi, this can’t be real, how can you smoke at this hour?” And he replied: “Oh go to hell Zvone,” said the former player.
