A great goal by Richarlison, from Chile, could not prevent this Saturday the defeat of Rafa Benítez’s Everton at Norwich, until now bottom of the Premier and who had 6 straight losses (2-1). In their fight for salvation, Norwich decided the match thanks to goals from Michael Keane (own goal) and Adam Idah in the first half, a victory with which they put pressure on Benítez, whom a sector of Everton fans ask him to leave.
It was in the 16th minute when, after a cross from Joshua Sargent, Michael Keane put the ball into the goal defended by Jordan Pickford. And two later, in the 18th minute, a great play by Brandon Williams on a counterattack turned it into Idah’s second goal for Norwich, ultimately the game-winner. Carrow Road burst with joy after so many weeks of poor results, his team paid for defeat and unable to score.

Rafa Benítez’s Everton tried to react. It was the Brazilian Richarlison, who came on in the 54th minute to replace Salomón Rondón, who closed the gap with a splendid Chilean goal in the 60th minute. But the ‘Toffees’ could not seal that reaction against a Norwich that had not scored a goal in the Premier since November.
After a promising start to the season, Everton have lost 9 of their last 12 Premier League games, moving from 4th to 15th. The anger of the fans reappears on Benítez, whose arrival in office has already sparked controversy due to his past as coach of Liverpool, Everton’s great rival citizen. Norwich is now 17th, just one point from salvation.
