Pons and Guitart, the 'bosses' of the asterisk preseason

Edu Pons and Marc Guitart. Surely many people will not be familiar with the name, but they are in charge of putting in shape and conditioning the new Barcelona signings and the loaned players who have returned to the Blaugrana discipline. Pons is a physical trainer for the first team while Guitart performs the same functions at the subsidiary. Since last August 13, Pons and Guitart have been in charge of supervising the training sessions of the seven players -two of them, Jean Clair Todibo and Carles Aleñá had to withdraw due to covid 19- who have started the preseason: the new Trincao, Pedri and Matheus, along with Rafinha, Oriol Busquets, Miranda and Wagué.

The objective is that they can be incorporated on August 31, when the bulk of the first team opens the curtain, in the best possible conditions. Both Pons and Guitart have had to give up part of their vacations in order to condition the new and loaned ones. The training plan that follows has been divided into two work shifts: Guitart is at 9 am with Rafinha, Busquets, Miranda and Wagué, while Pons joins at 9.45 am with Trincao, Pedri and Matheus. Since last Wednesday, they have a new player who has joined the work sessions: forward Martin Braithwate. In theory, and until the first team starts the preseason, the work of Pons and Guitart will continue with the new ones, on loan and from Wednesday, also with the Danish attacker.
