Gerard Piqué revolutionized the world of sports this Thursday, November 3, when he announced his retirement through an exciting video on his social networks. Of his decision only a few people of his utmost confidence were aware. Also his trainer, Xavi Hernandez.
In the video, the Blaugrana appears alone at the Camp Nou, at night: “Those images that he chose for the video on the soccer field at night were recorded the day before,” journalist Lorena Vázquez said this Friday in it’s already noon.

Before recording these images, he was having dinner with colleagues and several members of the Barça staff, although he kept his intentions absolutely silent: “A dinner was held with some of the Barça teammates, with some directors also with the coaches and people from the communication department. It was done in a Can Ferran restaurant. At that dinner, Piqué decided not to comment or advance the decision.”

Piqué only shared his secret with a few people in his circle: “Only six people around him knew the news of his retirement, but he considered giving the news to his teammates, but finally backed down.”
The images at the Camp Nou were recorded after this dinner. Others from his family and personal archive were added to them, with which he reviewed his life: “After dinner around midnight he came to the Camp Nou to record those last two images that he wanted to attach. Piqué has hung up his boots after a year marked by his poor performance on the pitch.
