Piqué, unleashed after his withdrawal and the agreement with Shakira: “The same now I do give a show”

Gerard Piqué He has broken his silence after his retirement from Barça at the age of 35. The former footballer, moreover, has spoken at a key moment in his personal life, since this Monday he reached an expected agreement with Shakira for the custody of their children. The Colombian singer takes them with her to Miami, while the former soccer player will be able to travel there to be with them ten days a month.

The blaugrana spoke this Wednesday with River Llanos on his Twitch channel. On the balance he makes of his sports career in the team of his life, he said: “I look back and I see that I have made a spectacular journey, I have felt privileged every day of my life for all these years”.




After the criticism received for his lifestyle off the pitch, he explained: “Players are not robots. We are people.” Among other examples, he has talked about how necessary it is for players to have a social life like any other person.

“We need to go out for lunch and dinner, to have a social life, to party… Everything has a balance in life. I’ve had a career of almost 20 years and I’ve taken care of myself to be there, but if you don’t go out What should I wear to party, to party now? It’s mandatory, if you don’t party for five years… There’s something dark. It doesn’t matter if you’re a footballer or a waiter, it doesn’t matter,” he clarified.

After his sports retirement, he feels completely free to say what he pleases in the media, to whom he had not given any statements in recent months: “Now I just broke up with everything.” In this sense, he added: There are times when I feel like talking, I feel like putting on a show and sometimes I don’t. During these months I didn’t feel like it at all… and now, once I’ve said goodbye, well, we’ll see, maybe we’ll give more of a show”.




After his departure as a player, Barça will continue to be the team he loves. It is even said that he could be the future Blaugrana president: “I think that at some point I will feel like it. Right now I don’t have it in my head (…) We’ll see in the future, I don’t know if far, near… but yes, I would like to be able to help the club of my life to exploit all the potential it has”, he clarified in the Ibai program, the friend of top-level footballers.
