Fate makes unsuspected travel companions. Eder Sarabia, Quique Setién's former assistant at Barcelona, has become the new coach of FC Andorra, Gerard Piqué's team, which is one of the owners of the Principality club through the Kosmos group. In this way, the tables are reversed and the one who until a few months ago was the coach of the Barça central defender is now under the player's orders at the Andorran club. Eder Sarabia has not returned to a bench since he was fired from the Barcelona last August as part of the coaching staff of Quique Setien after the humiliating elimination at the hands of Bayern in the Champions League with the historic 2-8.
Sarabia disembarks in the Principality team after the departure of coach Nacho Castro. He will sign for the remainder of the season and two more, until June 2023, with the aim of achieving promotion to the Second Division. Currently, Andorra is second in Group 3 Subgroup A of Second B, just one point behind the leader, Nàstic.
In this way, and at 40 years of age, the Bilbao coach will undertake his first adventure as head coach on a bench after being second in Barcelona, Betis and Las Palmas. Sarabia will be presented with Andorra this Tuesday.
