Pilar Alegría predicts “a stage full of success, progress and equality” with Rodríguez Uribes

The Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Pilar Alegría, stated that the new president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, will lead Spanish sport “towards a stage full of success, progress and equality” , according to a statement.

“I am sure that you will lead Spanish sport towards a stage full of success, progress and equality,” the minister stressed in her speech during Uribes' inauguration at the CSD headquarters in Madrid, from where she highlighted the coherence of the appointment with “the importance that the Government of Spain gives to sport”, a “country policy” to which they will allocate “all possible resources”.

Alegría reviewed the most immediate sporting challenges that the CSD faces, such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, the Euro Cup in Germany or the efforts related to the 2030 Soccer World Cup.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of “developing the Sports Law, carrying out the transparent renewal of the Federations, achieving full and real equality in the field of sports and developing the right to physical and sporting activity.”

The Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports also thanked the work of the previous president, Víctor Francos, “whom she wished luck in his new professional career.”
