Perrone: “There is a lot of equality in the European Championship and the important thing is to raise our heads”

MADRID, 4 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish water polo player Felipe Perrone said this Thursday that “there is a lot of equality” in the men's European Championship, which is being held in the Croatian cities of Dubrovnik and Zagreb, and for that reason he said that “the important thing is to lift our heads” after the Spain's defeat on penalties (9-9, 3-5) against the host team.

“There is a lot of equality, the important thing is to lift our heads and think about the next game. This has really been a very intense game; but we knew that, no matter what happens, the championship continues and we have to think about the rest,” declared Perrone to the official media of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN).

“I think we had control of the match at some moments, we sinned with the situations in which we could have killed the match. But this is sports, they have also failed, it was a great high-level match and in the end it fell for them But hey, we keep going, the championship is long,” stressed the Spanish player.

In fact, Perrone admitted to having enjoyed this duel against the Croatians. “We train for this type of match, it is a pleasure for a match like this,” he said before analyzing Montenegro, who will be his next opponent on the second day of the European Championship.

“They are a great rival, they are a young team and I think that is why they shoot a lot. And when they are good, they are a very dangerous team. So we will have to be prepared for a game like this,” concluded Perrone.
