Pedro Acosta: “I haven’t had time to assimilate everything”

MADRID, 11 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The flaming Moto3 world champion, the Spanish Pedro Acosta (KTM), assured that he had not had time to “assimilate it all” after winning the title last week and acknowledged that he is receiving many congratulations, even from people who did not believe in him a year ago.

“I have not had time to assimilate everything. I am still happier for having won the race than or for how I handled it than for anything else. I hope I do not believe it, because that way I will always want to improve,” he told DAZN.

The 17-year-old ‘Tiburon de Mazarrón’ has been receiving congratulations all week. However, Acosta thinks not all of them are sincere. “Now everyone congratulates you, the people who did not believe in you a year ago, now come and they knew that you were going to arrive …”, said the Murcian.

“Many people have congratulated me. Stoner’s congratulations made me excited, he was there on the circuit, and that of the team as well,” he said about which congratulations he had been most excited about since his conquest in Portimao a week ago.

The Murcian has one last race in Moto3 left and he wants to close the year in style in Valencia. “My goal is to have fun in my last race, eyes on the Jerez test. So I want to have fun and enjoy fighting,” he added.

Finally, Pedro Acosta, who will make the jump to the Moto2 World Championship next year, said that he has not yet tested the new bike. “They have not let me try Moto2 yet, so I have not asked about MotoGP, but I think the answer is clear. We are going to focus on Moto2, which is what we have to do now,” he said.
