Pedri: “Things work out for me on the pitch, I’m lucky enough not to think”

MADRID, 17 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The FC Barcelona player Pedro González ‘Pedri’ was “very happy” after the victory against Galatasaray (1-2) in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 and downplayed his great performance, with a goal included , by assuring that things “come out on their own in the field” because he has “that luck of not thinking”.

“It was a victory of character because at the Camp Nou we ended up with a result that was not what we expected. We knew that here they were going to push us a lot and it was really crazy. We took it out because of the desire to win,” said the player Canarian in statements to Movistar.

Asked about his goal, Pedri said he didn’t remember it well. “Ferran gives it to me and I think about shooting, but I fake and I see a leg and I keep fake until I see the gap,” the Spanish international reported normally. “The truth is that I don’t remember very well,” he added.

“Things work out for me on the pitch, I’m lucky enough not to think. It’s not Messi’s goal, he has scored much better and comparing myself to Leo is crazy. We’ve all been very good because when a team scores you in their field is coming up, and scoring a quick goal helps you a lot to face the rest of the game”, he affirmed.

In addition, Pedri said that he sees Barça as the “favourite” to win the Europa League, but that they must think “game by game” and he believes that they will reach the Clásico playing “good football”. “It’s football that we like and it shows on the pitch. We’re enjoying ourselves and hopefully we can have the opportunity to win. We’re going to go all out,” he said.
